1day of Journey & Makan trip..

The date was 24.10.09, setting up on a bright beautiful Saturday afternoon.. Me, Sally, and Kenny planned a trip to Malacca this time. Fransic and Sherry were unable to join our trip as they both work.. This is also another random trip, thought by Sally the day before to visit one of our classmate, Kareen! She was suprise that we're heading her place so suddenly that we ourselves having nothing to do on the same particular day but to visit Malacca for a feastfull trip! All was planned, and off we go by Sally's Myvi.. Having not so rush at all, I suggested to use Banting road to reach Malacca as that deserted road doesn't need us to cross ANY toll!! I've experience this road few weeks ago when my dad used it to reach the border of Malacca..

2PM was our leaving journey from Klang to Malacca.. The journey was fill with excitements in every of our body, with myself guiding some important route turnings to inexperience Sally before she misguide herself.. Hahah! We stop by at Tanjung Sepat tuft for a meal in a restaurant which is famous for their ancient grandfather story where it is told that the couple will stay forever and ever if they walk on the Lovers Bridge from the starting point to the end of the bridge holding hands.. I'm not so clear, as this source is from Kenny after all.. But to what I'm clear is that, this restaurant serve really nice food! We ordered a plate of lala fried mee hun for 2 and another plate of fried calamari.. This meal cost us about RM20++, which is moderately cheap! Sorry for no pictures as were kind of rushing though..=p

We continued our journey, not long before we seek nearby Tanjung Sepat for a freshly chilled blend amokana juice - kedondong.. The famous stall which appeared in tv before was introduced by our fellow member Kenny and this exotic fruit juice just refresh my day after a scumptious meal earlier! Yummy..=P

1 word..... Yummy!!

So our trip continued later on, another 40km before reaching NOT Malacca... But only to Port Dickson!! Having wasted so much times by using this road, the mood starts to drop, only to know we've halfway through and still another to carry on! Kareen waited anciously as she also fired us for being so long with text messages from her nodding few times.. Anyhow, the view here is absolutely beautiful comparing a straight highway boring~ness! There are hardly any building around us and everything is natural from trees, streets of palm oil plantation, dragon fruit plantation, and best of all, the beach! This road is definetely suites travelers and no hush~puppies like us city boy and girl.. Hahaha.

3hours has gone, finally we reached Malacca.. Still we have to meet up our friend Kareen before we can do more activities. Even though this is my second taste of Malacca, I've never been into the heart of their town yet! We meet Kareen up, and she brought us to a makan place deep hidden junction behind a building.. We usualy called this a "jalan lorong belakang".. We were astounished by what we look at! So few nowadays would this kind of stall at anywhere common.. But you can find this here at Malacca streets.. Here are few images taken while we feast;

Yes..... We're sitting on a stool!! And quite pack of peoples as well..

An uncle and auntie prepared our food.. You can see dried sotong (squid) hanging on display..

Kareen ordered us few variety of seafood including clam, snail and see ham (cockles).

These shells are easy to prepared, they only blanch with hot boiled water and serve us with a sauce bowl, using mini fork to eat and for easy access when forcing snail meat out.. This stall also been introduce from tv series "Ho Chak" and "Taste with Jason" as the stall posted their record there..

If you guys wandering what pile of crapshit is this, not to be worried as they are not disgusting as it looks.. Just an ordinary fishball, crisp fried crakers, flakes of peanut and a charbroiled tau foo (fried beancurd) mix in a sweet tangy sauce.. Cheeerrss!

Kareen always busy with her cell..

We finished very quickly to head later for another round.. Unfortunately the famous popiah stall as described by Sally didn't open, so we drove to another destination in searching for unique food that what back in Klang does not offer.. Kareen brought us to this outdoor seated stall to eat White Wantan Noodle..

Kenny and Kareen waiting patiently as the uncle prepared our food..

Food finally came, and as for us 3 cannot wait to try it out in our mouth! The taste was nice, me and Kenny finished a bowl, Sally only sip a few for tasting.. It was something new for me as our Wantan Noodle back in Klang wasn't in white colour.. So it is a whole different experience!! Enjoyed very much..=)

After another round of feasting.. We still hunger for more!! Then Kareen brought us to another location nearby.. This time we're heading "Jonker Walk" for some Laksa experience!! Funny is that Malacca are nearly as the same as Petaling Street, but better and more choices, plus cleaner! We walk the street until we've reach that famous Laksa stall.. It was incrediblely crowded!! I wasn't suprise because this stall also a targeted food hunter like Ho Chak.. However, we're lucky as well to get a seat inside and self ordered their signature dish.. Nyoya Asam Laksa & Baba Curry Laksa!

Nyoya Asam Laksa..

..and Baba Curry Laksa..

"Durian ABC"

We also ordered the ABC just right opposite the Laksa stall.. Came in different kind of flavours! Everything just totally delicious!XD

As you can see, all pack up.. This was just behind, the front behind walls i assume pack up too!

Some displayed old photoframes of artifacts and histories..

Kareen as usual busy~ing with her cell..

Sally totally enjoyed her time..

..and Kenny too!

Kareen with her funny reactions.. Priceless!=)

Sally couldn't finish the whole bowl of Laksa and it was up to me to "wallap" every single leftovers..

We eaten for now, filling our loaded stomach taste of Malacca's famous food.. Then it is time for a walk around town.. Kareen lead us to places while I'm busy~ing taking photos of night histories!=)

Malacca's clock tower..

The famous red painted church of Malacca..

Kenny having some fun time with the cannon..

This photo of Kenny in darkness.. Hardly see him clearly not even his teeth! Hahah..

The magnificent large ship displayed along roadsides.. It opens at noon for visitors to explore the museum inside.

360 Degree of sight~seeing tower.. Need a fee of RM10 to get abroad, but we didn't manage to take a chance..

A' Famosa at night.. Gives a gruesome scary feeling when entered inside! I got myself a goosebump for a moment.. We almost visit another historical tomb at the moment, but those girls were afraid to carry on..

After a good walk around the city, everyone decide to go for a drink somewhere in a lively place.. Until we reach there, it was totally full of people.. The night life of Malacca in my thought was very dreadful once, until I've seen it.. There is clubbing, bars, crowded yam cha spot, and a totally beautiful view of the seas facing the straits.. We entered a Cafe inside a building with a lot of entertainment like karaoke, cyber cafes, and snooker. There we ordered something to chill our hot-warm-after-long-walking trip.. With our drinks, we seat and chat while enjoying the sea view..

Having reach almost 12am, and with a loaded tummy.. Its time to head a long long journey back KL! Myself was halfdead for not having enough rest the day before! Everybody did enjoyed the trip, it was fun and exciting to be able to explore many places inside Malacca thanks to Kareen for being our tour guide! Heheh, our next crazy random plan might head to Sabah or Sarawak maybe.. According to Sally larh!XD
